Is a 91 550SX a good freestyle ski? What should i get?

Im looking a a 550SX that has alot of work and its cheap. But i heard they had engine problems and didn't handle as good. I know the 650's are better but i dont have alot of cash and besides that this 550 is a steal of a deal. How are they? Should i get it? I just plan to race around some and jump waves. Possibly some backflips/barrel rolls im into that kind of crazy stuff. Think the 550 will be good?
