I purchased a 2011 GTI130 in the beginning of summer and have had a blast with it. I want to get out once more but this rain keeps up im not going to be able to before it gets too cold.
All the dealers around here are charging $298 to winterize with free startup in spring. I cannot see spending that for something i feel i can do. I read conflicting things online about what truely needs to be done. She just had her 10 hour oil change and ive only put on 5 more hours since then so i dont feel the oil needs to be changed. I know i need to blow out the exhaust with air and fill the tank and put STABIL which is easy but beyond that im kind of stumped.
Do i need to spray fogging oil into the intake? i see the airbox but i dont understand how to get to it to even change the air filter. i assume i cant just spray the oil in the intake vents under the steering columdo i need to pull my fuel rail and spark plugs? Also, i dont understand what i need to do with the antifreeze. i read somewhere you need to drain the tank and put 100% antifreeze in the tank/lines. How do i do this?
When i purchased it i was told by numerous dealers that the fuel injected skis are extremely simple to winterize and i could do it my self. I keep reading different things about what really needs to be done. Ide appreciate any insite. I consistently spray the engine and flush the exhaust with salt away, dry it out and spray XPS lube over everything.
