Default Need help with repair..........I have pics

Im looking for the best and quickest way to repair this at home.
I read through the sticky post of fiberglass repair and came out more confused than I went in.

This crack goes through cause the water from inside is leaking out sitting in the driveway.

Also what is this vent tube that isnt connected to anything??

The ski is a 97 yamaha wave venture 760

To repair it properly, there is no "quick easy". If you don't do it right it will be leaking again very quickly. It needs to be repaired from the inside out. You get rid of all the damaged material, and lay up fiberglass starting on the inside overlapping the edges a good bit working out. You need to use an epoxy based system. I recommend West. That type of a repair at a good hull repair shop would easily run over $1500 to give you an idea of the work involved.

The hose is a battery vent for the original "flooded" type of battery that came on the ski. Unless you have a battery with a vent port (only on flooded batteries), you can remove it.

There is a product called code blue by crest products.. It is a great two part epoxy that will work well on a tight fiberglass matting. Fixing it from inside out is definetly the way to go and a lil trick i have learned in repairing glass and other plastics is heat treat your area before matting and epoxying. Ive learend when you heat treat the area you break down the hardened material allowi g it to rebond with the new.. Dont forget keep your work area clean if u have a die grinder get a cheap fiberglass cone file for it so you can "v" it out. Good luck hope this helps you..
