Absolutely not true. What year is it? The ones 2007 and up have the steel thrust washers in the supercharger from the factory, older than that you should upgrade the ceramic ones for steel. I have a 2006 RXT (same motor) with a RIVA STAGE III kit and other mods pushing 300 HP with 105 hours on it and run s perfect at all speeds. Who ever told you that is misinformed. Top end right now in cool weather is 77 mph @ 8500 rpms.

It depends on the year and condition, you know the RXP is a two seater and the RXT is a slightly bigger three seater. The RXP is a little faster, but the RXT will handle chop better.

I do not have a Seadoo, but when I bought my Yamaha almost 10 years ago everywhere I read said the Yamaha was more reliable, even on allot of forums I read today people will swear by the Yamaha's on reliability, but I will agree that people tend to be loyal to what they own, and what they have invested their money in, especially if they have had nothing but good luck with that brand.

Like for me my 2002 FX140 has been great I have had no major issues with it at all, it just keeps going strong, so when I went to buy another ski I bought a Yamaha. One thing I did want to mention though, is if your ski does have a issue, what ski is easier to find mechanics that can work on them, It seemed like to me like everywhere I went on the lake around me, people had outboard Yamaha engines and places that service PWC'a/Boats were always able to work on Yamaha easily, I am no mechanic like others on here that do their own work, I am going to rely on others to work on my skis, and if you never have a issue that is great, but if you do being able to find mechanics that are familiar with your ski and comfortable working on them seems like a good idea to me.
Yamaha just seems to be a much bigger brand that Seadoo, and their engines are in everything, motorcycles, ATV's, snow mobiles. Maybe Seadoo does also and I just do not realize it, because I am no expert at all on this stuff really, this is just things that were in my mind when I went to buy my skies.

Just so you are educated, BRP stands for Bombardier Recreational Products, As big if not bigger than Yamaha. They produce Skidoo snowmobiles (longer than Yamaha), Seadoo PWC's and Jet boats, Can Am ATV"S and Motorcycles, Evinrude Outboards and boats, The parent company builds the high speed bullet train. Their engines are built in Austria with european quality then shipped to Canada for assembly into their watercraft, snowmobiles and ATV's. Their sales are close to Yamahas and their dealer network is also. So when you are giving advice it pays to understand what you are saying.

Sorry, I have heard of Bombardier and knew they make airplanes engines also, but had no idea they mode motorcycles and stuff, I have always herd of Yamaha motorcycles though and outboards, and I am not educated on these things, but from a layman's point of view Yamaha seems bigger, that why I mentioned it, because even though I do not really know, I did use that as a reason to choose Yamaha thinking a person that works on Yamaha engines all the time would be easy to find. But you must be right then, I am just saying either way it something to look at I would think.
