Default Dyeing side bumpers

Well i picked a 95 seadoo xp and im not a fan of the purple and yellow color scheme. So i was wondering if anyone has had any luck dyeing the side bumpers. They are purple now and was hoping to dye them black.

Not sure whether this would work for you but here's a link to a thread on another forum (s2ki) where a guy dyed his clear coolant overflow bottle in his car black using RIT dye.
