Angry Magnum RotoMag Swinger PWC Lift

I purchased a Magnum RotoMag Swinger PWC Lift over the summer and had it installed to my fixed dock, but it doesn't work very well. I had it installed professionally, but it was the first time that they had installed a "swinger" lift. I've called Magnum and made several adjustments, but the design does not seem robust. You have to park the ski within 6 inches of the center of gravity so that you don't put excessive loading on one side of the lift or the other, which causes friction and causes the lift to stall when being lifted.

I'm using the lift with a 2004 Yamaha FX HO cruiser ski. I estimate that the weight of the ski is 850 lbs or so, but the lift has a rated capacity of 1500 lbs.

I like the concept of the lift, since I can store my ski on my fixed dock during the winter, but I'm not sure how well the lift will do over time. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had issues or problems with the Magnum RotoMag Swinger PWC Lift.

Does anyone have any experience with one of these lifts? Does anyone have any experience with Tide Tamer lifts?
