Default To store or not to store Seadoos for Winter?

I have two 1996 Seadoos (1996 GTX and 1996 GSX) that I'm trying to decide to store or not to store for Winter. They are currently sitting at a dock just out of the water on two ride on two PWC SportPorts (ride on docks).

How important is it to take them out of the water completely and store them for the Winter?

Will it harm the seadoos much to leave them on the SportPort docks (with covers on them) all year round?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure SeaDoo recommends running anti-freeze through their skis if they will be in sub freezing temps. If it were a Yamaha, which is self draining you might be OK.

Here is the SeaDoo factory guide: http://www.shopsbt.com/forum/attachm...5-winter_8.zip

Guess I should have provided some info on the conditions.

I'm in Northern CA. The weather only gets below freezing on rare occasions. I've attached a screen shot of the average temps by month.

If I leave them on the SportDock (ride on dock out of the water), I can pick a day per month or so when it's not super cold to take them out on the water for a couple minutes just to keep them in running condition and make sure the battery stays charged.

Or if I store them, I assume I should buy a battery trickle (or two...one for each ski) to make sure the battery stays charged during the winter.

It would be more conveneint for me to leave them by the Dock on the Sport Dock, but only if it won't harm the skis too much.

What do you think? Would you buy 2 battery trickles and stroe them, or just leave them on the SportDock and fire the engines once in a while?

Thanks!

I'd say you would be OK either way you want to do it. If you can ride them enough to keep the batteries charged. Just starting them for a few seconds will actually kill the batteries. If you can ride for awhile every month or two it would be OK. Otherwise I'd pull the batteries and put them on a tender.

Get yourself one of these:
Amazon Amazon

Or 2 of these:
Amazon Amazon
. This is a good price.....may not last long.
