Default Question on PWC Trailer

We are thinking about buying a Yamaha VXS. We currently have a 2004 SeaDoo GTI LE. I want to know if we can use the same trailer for the VXS that we use for the GTI LE. We have a Yacht Club WC1 trailer.

Here are the specs for both

Length Weight
VXS 126.8" 721 lbs.
GTI LE 121.0" 600 lbs.

The VXS is a little bit longer and 121 lbs. heavier.
Thanks.
Sandy

Shouldn't be any problem, although you may have to reposition the bunks and winch post to fit the new ski hull and get the proper weight balance. You want about 10% of the total weight over the hitch tongue......if you don't get this right it will be a bitch to tow, not to mention unsafe.

The smallest Yacht Club PWC trailer I've seen has a 1200 lb. capacity. There should be a capacity plate on the trailer someplace that will give you the max. capacity weight.

Should be fine after a little adjusting as stated above.

I have a 1200 Load Rite. My ski weights about 950lbs including gas. The weight on the scale is 140lbs. Is this ok? I guess a 1200 trailer should be 120 tongue weight (10%). Is 140 at the tongue ok?

Should be fine. You shoot for 10-15%. To light will cause sway.

My trailer is a Load Rite rated for 1200 lbs, My ski with gas is ~950lbs. The tongue weight on bathroom scale is 140lbs. But the sticket on the trailer says 75lbs max tongue weight. Am I ok or this is not good?

That seems odd. Everything I've ever seen about tongue weight recommends around 9-15%, which would put you more than 75 lbs. I know that some trailers are designed to be stable at lower tongue weights (as low as 5%), but that would make you overweight with your ski. Best bet would be to contact the trailer manufacturer and ask them.
