I was taking my 94 waveraider to the waterway to ride. When the jet ski started the starter keep turning while the motor was running. I had to disconnect the battery cables to shut the jet ski off. When I got home I checked out the wires and solenoid and everything looked fine. But when I put the battery cable on the terminal It starts again.
A shorted start/stop switch sounds about right. Clean and inspect the switch, check the rest of the circuit as well because there could be another short hidding. Luckily these are pretty simple systems so there's not much to inspect. Good luck!
