I am wondering on calm lake waters, with a collapsible paddle, how far could you paddle a Waverunner? Do they paddle well at all or is the position too awkward, etc.

I don't about paddling, but you can swim a stand up a long ways. I killed my battery on my old 550 and had to swim in for about 45 minutes.

I have never used a collaspable oar but once you are used to keeping balance on the ski while stopped it should work fine. I have had to swim closed to an hour too! I stopped to take a break in the middle of the lake and I discovered the had battery died. Time for a swim!
