Default Old waverunner, scrap or repair?

Okay, i just recently (like 3 hours ago) went and got my family old tiger shark waverunner from the lake. it's been sitting up there for around 5 or so years and has a few problems that i know of, like a hole in the hull and the bilge pump isn't working. most def needs a battery, new gas/oil caps, and a reupholstered seat. so here's the question, should i scrap it or put the money into getting it fixed and re-selling it. i would also like an estimate on the trailer if at all possible.

here are some pictures (its got a bit of dirt all over it i plan on pressure washing it in the morning)

Welcome to the forum! Your ski does not look like its in bad shape, just dirty, which is easily fixed. The Tigersharks are good skis, they are just a little harder to find parts. Parts are out there, you just have to look. I would make a project out of it, get it fixed up and enjoy it! Good luck!

Thanks for your input, i just cleaned the whole thing and got rid of most of the dirt but still have some more to go. im just waiting on my paycheck to start fixing her up. she's a 1994, suziki 2 stroke with 62 horsepower. after i get her up and running i would like to mod it to get a few extra horse's to go a little bit faster. i filled the bottom of the hull of with water and found where the leak is, marked it and i just have to patch it, i need some tips on how to turnn it on it's side to be able to reach the hole because its right next to the wood on the trailer.

This wound up taking me about a month and about $800 to do. This was including a complete engine off ebay......original threw a rod. I got the ski for free. Iv'e also got a 900 monte carlo tigarshark that I absolutely love......rebuild it......You'll know it inside and out when your done.

That looks like it was a fun project, i don't think im going to go all out and repaint this thing, but im defiantly going to get the seat reupholstered.
Im pretty excited about starting to work on this thing but it's going to be a challenge because i don't know that much about working on them.

Older skis are alot of fun, and make great projects that always leave a smile on your face. As stated before, finding parts may be the worst part of it, but if you find a scrapped or parts ski for next to nothing, then you are golden. If you are good with a wrench, then it's all fun and games from that point on. Get it running, patch the hull, replace the bilge pump, slap some upholstery on the seat, and ride the Hell out of it.

about patching the hull, theres only one spot where water get in, but there's a few chips in some places that just look ugly. i was wondering if i should just cover those with fiberglass or is there something else i can use to make it look better. i just want a "like new" hull and i feel those chips could become a problem in the future so i want to get rid of them.

i need some help with cleaning out the gas tank, should i just add gas to it until i can get all of that gunky stuff out of it? like, add a gallon or two of gas at a time and keep pumping it out?

I just siphoned my tank out, and used a rag on a stick to get the last of it. Adding more gas, just contaminates your fresh gas.
