wearing glasses/contacts while riding
So today I bought my first jet ski. I wear glasses/contacts. Been wearing glasses for about 5 years and just started wearing contacts 6 months ago.
Just curious what people do. I have lost a few pairs of sunglasses in the river, so I'm just wondering how people do this. Or if you wear contact lenses (which I would prefer) how do you keep them from falling out if you fall in the water?
I may have posted this in the wrong forum, sorry if I did.

I usually just wear sunglasses with a neoprene glasses strap when riding, and even in the rough stuff, I never have an issue. My brother, however, wears an off-road helmet and tinted goggles, which would eliminate sunglasses, or the possibility of loosing them.
And don't invest in expensive glasses. You will never lose/destroy a pair of cheapos. They could fall off your face in the heaviest chop at the highest speed, and a skindiver will pop to the surface with the cheapos in his hand, yelling out, "Did someone lose some glasses?"

Well I am talking about prescription glasses. I have several cheap pairs, but even cheap prescription is not always that cheap. So does the neoprene strap float?

just wear your contacts with sunglasses over them, just don't open your eyes in the water. im sure keeping your them in without sunglasses on would dry them out fast. idk though, i don't wear them.

I wear scrip. glasses with transition when I ride and use a strap like ones on sunglasses, never had an issue with them coming off while riding. Wife wears contacts, shouldn't have an issue with them coming out if you hit the water, slight discomfort and blurry for a moment if you open your eyes under water, but other than that no real problem. Enjoy your new toy!
Just don't rub your eyes real hard when you come up they might fall out then.

Rode for the first time last saturday with my new VX Deluxe. Lost my glasses in 20 minutes. The ironic thing is I bought a necklace thing to hold them on and float if they come off. Well the guy at the counter FORGOT to put it in my bag.
Had to spend $120 for a contact eye exam to get some contacts while I wait for my glasses to ship. I have astigmatism and contacts suck horribly for me.

You can either get some goggles with a strap. I don't recommend regular sunglasses, since air and water can blow around them into your eyes............not good for contact lens wearers. Other option is prescription goggles. Here is a company that gives you both options, and their glasses are polarized: SeaSpecs Extreme Surf Sunglasses, Sunglasses For Extreme Water Sports

googles over the contact lenses sounds like a good idea...
BTW for any of you who do wear glasses, check out the website Contact Lenses, Designer Eyeglasses, Sunglasses & More | Coastal™
You can get really cheap glasses and sunglasses on there. They have promotions all the time and you can always get glasses for free, you just pay shipping. Of course these are not brand name glasses, but I bought a bunch of pairs that I won't care about losing. Well, I will care, just not as much as if I dropped $120 on the pair after insurance.

I just wear some persciption sunglasses I have had awhile, I dont even use a cord half the time, and I have forgot many times to switch and wear my main percription glasses that do get dark in the sun. I never really fall off and it would such to lose them.

Use the disposable contact lenses. I buy a years supply so if I fall in and lose a lens or 2 I have spares.
