Default Salt water impact

I got my first PWC this spring (2012 Seadoo GTX 155). I run it in freshwater. I went to the Gulf this past week and thought about taking it, as the condo has a beach on the bay where you can tie them up. But my operating manual states the engine should be flushed after each use in salt water....so I didn't take it. But when I got there, I noticed many PWCs that were left in the water for a week. So, does a week of exposure do harm?
Man! During the week, I drove my wife crazy after the 10th time of saying "wished I had brought it!"

I think you would be fine for a week. Hit it with a coating of a good anti-corrosive spray first (especially the drive shaft, which tends to rust quickly on SeaDoo skis) and do a really good flush afterwards with Salt-Away or similar product. I think I'd be more worried about the ski sinking left on the water.
