I Have a 99' yamaha gp1200 that i just bought from a friend a few months ago.. i want to paint it a different color. this is basiclly what you would call a garage paint job. my questions are: how much paint do i need to paint the top half? secondly, what kind of paint and primer etc do i need? do i want a single stage, 2 stage, air dry type paint?

it has already been sanded. ill be using an air compressor and gun for this.
oh and i cant afford all those expensive type paints. just want to change the color and restore for a better look out on the water. it was all scatched up and faded before. so anything will be better then what it was. i snaded all the scratches and scuffs already too, using multiple stage sanding grids as advised by a local shop. also i live in florida so i think humidity will be a factor too
