Engine bay

Hey guys I'm new to this forum and sorta new to the PWC world, bought a used 04 Yamaha Fx cruiser ho with low hours last season, but the engine bay seems a little rough and wanted to get your guys opinion on what to use to clean the black gunk and all inside, without worrying about damaging any components as well as cleaning the bildge . Pictures are below , any help would be greatly appreciated !

I use purple cleaner like Castrol Super clean. Try a 50% ration, and if that doesn't cut it, go 100%. Might have to scrub some. Wear heavy rubber gloves if possible, and lots of ventilation. Try real hard not to get anything in the air cleaner. Might even pull the top off, cover the intake opening with plastic, and reinstall the cover, to keep water out. Make sure the oil cap is on good, and any engine ventilation lines are secure, along with the intake hose from the air cleaner.
