Default safe to use bombardier xp s in yamaha or kawasaki?

Hey guys, total newbie here. I've been trying to search for an answer with no success. Here's my question.

I've got a 98 Kawasaki STX900 and an 01 Yamaha XL800 that I picked up last fall. I was at the lake over the weekend and they both got low on oil. They both say to use their respective manufacturer's oils (of course) or 2-stroke TC-W3 oil. I stopped in the marina at the lake and they assured me that the bombardier XP S mineral oil would be fine in them both, even though the jug doesn't specify the TC-W3 rating. So I bought a gallon of it and put it in both of the skiis.

Doing some research on the web it looks like the bombardier oil is API-TC, which is different from the TC-W3 rating, in fact, Seadoo says not to use the TC-W3 oil in their products. It looks like the API-TC is a higher performing oil.

So is it really okay to run this in machines that allow the TC-W3 oil or should I be concerned and drain this and replace with something different?

Thanks for any replies.

I am no oil expert but you should be fine. If anything your "overdoing" it because the Sea-Doo oils are some of the best on the market.

I think it should be alright too. That's pretty much what I got from my time searching was that the bombardier oil offered more protection than the TC-W3 that is recommended. The only downside I read about was one posting someplace suggested that it might foul the spark plugs because the TC-W3 oil is no ash while the bombardier oil is low ash. But at a few bucks a plug that was the least of my worries.

Thanks for the feedback.
