I'm in the market for a decent used/new 3-seater 4-cycle PWC. I've been reading a lot of posts about PWCs and enjoy the help everyone's getting. However, I haven't found out much about docks/lifts. There are a multitude of options and I can't distinguish the pros and cons between them. On the lake where we have a slip in the marina, the owner is a Hydroport-2 dealer. He quoted a price of $1800, plus another $600 for installation. Is this reasonable or way too much? What are the pros and cons versus floating docks and lifts? What are some other good brands? Can I install them myself? Are there any online resources that review docks and lifts? Any help is appreciated.
