Do what you want, but I'm saving my money and plunking it down on a X charger and 42lb injectors and either a 15/20 or a 14/19 impeller. The OPAS block-offs might be worth while too but I think just crank up the HP and rock it. Fill in the ride plate holes for a little more speed.

Oh yeah, congrats on the new ski!!!

Congrats on your new Seadoo, get ready to rock , What color did you get? Don't buy the RIVA performance ride plate for the sake of losing your closed loop cooling. I am taking off my own ride plate and modifying it this winter. Performance sponsons are the things that are attached to the sides of the ski near the transom. The stock ones have to much drag and are non-adjustable. The RIVA replacements have three different height adjustments for different conditions and has less drag. I have mine set all the way up for max speed. A catch can is for catching excess oil coming in instead of going back to supercharger. This is helpful for increased performance and increases the life of the supercharger.

Dude if I had to list all the mods to my RXT I would be typing for an hour. Just go to RIVA'S website and look up the 2006 Seadoo RXT RIVA STAGE III kit. I got all that plus some other secret squirrel mods. My ski is still work in progress but right now runs in the mid seventies.

Exclamation

Not to be a buzz killer but you did get the one with 70hrs that does have the original factory ceramic washers in it right? I would take it for a test spin but that would be it before I replaced those things. I don't care what the seller thinks about them, they are a major engine failure waiting to happen. When they let go they don't just slow you down or wreck the supercharger, they throw metal directly into your engine potentially causing catastrophic failure.

At 70 hrs, you're so close to needing a scheduled rebuild anyway that you might as well do a full complete rebuild. You can send it off to jerry gaddis (4 tech performance) and he'll do it for $400. Then you'll be set with a good strong fully boosted rig that got tons of reliable fun to be had.

The X charger is $700 and you can pickup the injectors for around $150. The first number is the "starting" angle and the second number is the "finishing" angle. On stock ski you can't pull either of the impellers I mentioned but if you increase the power with the X charger you need the taller pitch or you'll over-rev. My ski has a 14/17 solas impeller in it and it struggles to build up the power needed to get to 8,000 RPM's. It takes some smooth water to get it reved up and then it'll go 66mph on GPS. I think maybe an aftermarket intake would possibly help me but I don't like noise. Nobody has been able to tell me what the stock angle is. I have another 14/17 that I would sell for $150 shipped. That reminds me I need to get that on EBAY.

The OPAS is the little flipper paddles on the rear corners that move when you turn the handlebars. They are supposed to assist with slow speed maneuvers. When functioning correctly, they raise with water pressure to reduce the drag and then drop back down when you slow down. I put some PVC in there to hold them up and I cannot tell one bit of difference in the slow speed maneuvering and most people deem them worthless and they create extra drag.

They are called clutch washers and I would go to 4 tech performance to get the washers, not ebay (again my opinion) but as previously mentioned, you do need the full rebuild soon so I'd go that route instead. It takes a special wrench to hold the supercharger shaft

The hole filler is when you fill in the holes in the rideplate (I think there's 6)with JB weld or some epoxy equivallent to that. You gotta put something in there first to cover the bolts incase you should need to remove them someday. some have used a coil of rope and then duct tape over the head of the bolt and then JB weld to smooth it shut. others use silicone and put a nickel in before JB weld over the top. This is considered a "free" mod that has been repeatedly claimed to get you 1mph top end.

My buddy Mike rebuilds them all the time. He has the tools and the know how. He thinks they are easy and why waste your money if you can do it. PWC PERFORMANCE sells them they are the GREEN HULK vendor owned by the same person.

Talking Picked up 150 RPMS

Ok, I thought I would report back the on the test I did today. I raised my RIVA sponsons all the way up, between that and the work we did we picked up 150 more RPMS, now turning 8460-8520 RPMS. The weather was a little cooler 92 degrees. But the acceleration is way better from every speed to WOT. The trade off with the sponsons all the way up is she is a little skiddish now in hard turns but not out of control. Any way I'll take it.

Going to O.C. MD next week in OCEAN PINES, house with waterfront canal to the bay and ocean. Any one gonna be down that way can hook up with us to go riding. Nice tables at Secrets in the water where the waitresses bring out the food and drink in the water with your skis anchored to their bouy system right next you in waist deep water. Fastest way to get up and down the beach on the bayside
