Also not sure we need the power of the 260 so was thinking of going down to the GTX IS 215 or waiting for the 2012's 150 HP which I read will have a 'manual' version of IS, whatever that means!
Will likely be doing some tubing with children and most of our riding is in the back waters of the 10,000 islands with 6" - 2' waves. Do I need/want a supercharger?
Will I be filling my gas tank a lot more on a 260 vs. A 215 or a 150 HP?
Thanks for sharing! Great site. All the others review sites seem to read like ad copy!

Hi, I can give you some insight to the RXT-iS 255 (2009) They bumped up the HP to 260 in 2010.
Ok the concept for the RXT-iS is that there are basically two big pieces the upper deck and the lower hull. On the aS suspension it can be set for auto or manual modes for personal adjustment or auto adjustment. I leave mine in the Auto mode most of time so it will settle down by itself at idle. This is important to have the suspension lowered when at idling speeds to lower the center of gravity so it won't be tippy.
Ok, how effective is the suspension? Really good for non-aggressive drivers. It is more like a touring suspension not a watercross suspension. What that means is that anything from 6" chop at any speed to two footers at slower speeds. It is limited by about 6" travel and soft shocks. So, if you are just be-boping around in less than two foot waves it is superb, try to ride at 50 mph in 3-4' waves for 50 miles in the Chesapeake Bay to RED EYES DOCK BAR, bad idea

. The suspension was bottoming out on me in real rough conditions at high speeds. Making it harder to drive. Aggressive drivers will be dissapointed.
Also, realize you are not supposed to tow tubers or wakeboarders with it because of the two piece hull and deck design. You would be pulling on the suspension parts, because that is whats holding the upper deck to the hull, plus towing a tube with a novice driver would probably result in a wipeout, due to the design. The IBR controls are great and the brake is great if you use them properly.
Iwill get back to you on the engine comparision. Gotta run,
Cheers
