Hey guys, new here. I have a question. I am planning on building a small 10-12 foot boat and want to power it with a jetski/waverrunner engine. I have found numerous sites that sell rebuilt motors. I would really like to use a brand new crate motor and pump setup. To my surprise I cannot find ANY places that sell "crate" waverunner motors. Are crate motors not available? If so, where can I get one? I guess the next best thing is to go rebuilt, but I had my heart set on new, unless the cost will force me to go the rebuilt route...Any advice?

Depending on the brand you could probably get one through a dealership, but be sitting down when they tell you the price. I'd say you would be better off looking for a used ski that was being sold with hull damage, but an intact engine. Even buying a good used running complete ski and pulling the engine out of that, would be a better option than the rebuilt engines IMO.
