Default sucked up dirt and rock, will not turn over/start

Hello... My buddy had a rider hit a sand bar on the Honda F12X. we flushed out the Impeller area of rocks and dirt. But when the start button is hit the motor does not turn over. We are trying to figure out what damage is done. Was running perfectly all day. The Impeller area looks clear, there is a Dent(20mm) in one of the impellers edge. Clearances look ok. Going to Shop at end of week. How much if bad???(Ball park)

Running crap through the pump shouldn't cause it not to start, unless the impeller was damaged enough to lock it against the wear ring.

From what I read there is no wear ring on Honda Jet skis. Maybe if you can get the pump nozzle off you can try to see if the impeller will turn or not. You already know it is damaged. An impeller is about $300.00, hope that is all that is wrong.

Default Towed for 5 miles at 10-15mph.

Thanks for the replies. Also, we towed it back to the launch at 10-15mph. Could water have gotten in through the Pump. Although, it would not start before the towing either but, we know the Towing flushed the Impeller very well. Tried to start on trailer but it only bumped.

Yes grate is clear. If we take off the grate would it be safe to try and rotate the Impeller shaft by hand. Also, Pulling the Spark plugs would make this easier?
