Default Newbie Drain Plug Lesson

We bought two 2005 jet skis (one Yamaha and one SeaDoo). After the 3rd time out, I noticed that the SeaDoo was taking on some water, more than reasonable. Following proper procedure, I hooked up the flush and ran it in the driveway, but could not find any "interior leak" from the cooling system. Took it out a fourth time, keeping an eye on it, and it did take on water, but I could not identify the source. That night in the garage, I added water to the bilge and closed the plugs to see if I could identify the leak, hoping that it was a "low leak". I noticed one of the plugs leaking. After unscrewing, I found the o-ring broken. It actually wasn't that brittle and I could stop the leak by torquing town on the drain plug (probably not a good practice). Based on a thread on this forum, determined that I had a size 12 o-ring and I purchased a bag at Home Depot. The O-ring is on and that leak is stopped. Ready to get it back on the water to determine if that is the only problem.
