I have a 2008 RXP-X (mine/90 hours) and a 2007 GTX 155 (kids/100 hours)...just so you know where my opinion is coming from. I'd say used is the way to go, as they take a big hit in depreciation QUICKLY! The only difference betweent he GTXs and Wakes are, to my knowledge, the color, and the Wake has a pop-up ski pylon/handle for a rear facing observer. The Wake also comes with an optional ballast tank...about $500 from the dealer. I think the ballast tanks can be mounted on any 3-seater, but I'm not 100% sure. Not sure if you're interested in pulling anyone, but we use the GTX to pull my kids (18 and 13) on tubes, kneeboards and wakeboards with no problems. But I don't know how well it would work for an adult, never tried. The GTX runs about 55Mph with just me (160Lbs) and has given me zero problems with only routine maintenance that I perform, which is very easy and much cheaper than letting the dealer do it. And the only issue I've had with the RXP-X is the recalled hood shock/mount. I do like the GTXs storage capacity much better than the RXP-X. The GTX is also MUCH more comfortable to ride. It's not near as quick/fast as the RXP-X (what you'd expect with a 100Hp difference). You also don't have to worry about the supercharger maintenance with the 155s. And the 155s run on regular gas, instead of premium like the supercharged versions require. Consider your access to dealers/repair shops, Ie. if the Yamaha dealer is next door, but the SeaDoo dealer is an hour away that could make a difference. I never really compared SeaDoo to Yamaha, as I wanted the fastest ski, which was the RXP-X at the time. Then when it came time to buy a second one, I wanted the same brand for ease of maintenance/repair. Look around and see what everyone in your area is riding and go to the ramp and talk to folks. Also, if you'll be riding in salt water, the SeaDoos have closed loop cooling which will result in less engine problems from the salt water, but they do STILL require some mandatory manitenance after riding in salt...such as flushing well and washing down the ski and engine. Bottom line, I'm very happy with the SeaDoos and would buy them again. Not sure if I answered your question, but hope it helps.
