Default winterization necessary?

Should I winterize my skis if I plan to store them inside a heated building when not in use? If not a full winterization then what should I do?

Yes you should because what if the heat gives out during the winter for a day or two?

It will be natural gas heat so I don't anticipate it will ever go out. Also it will be the building I work in which will have running water, so if it will ever gets below freezing or the pipes will burst.

If freezing will not be an issue, is there any other reason to winterize? It still wont be ridden for upwards of 8 months.

Winterizing is usually four things:

1) Stabilizer in fuel tank or drain it completely

2) Disconnecting battery and preferably storing it indoors (in your case it already is indoors)

3) Fogging the engine to coat it internally with the film of oil

3) Filling the engine cooling passages with antifreeze so nothing will freeze and crack the block.

That's about it, if you're sure it will never get below freezing you can get away with not doing step 4. All other steps still need to be done for it to be winterized properly. Since I keep my skis indoors I also like to remove the spark plugs and loosely cover the spark plugs holes with a sock or towel so no debris gets in. This is to let the motor breathe over the winter.

Should I put stabilizer in the tank my last day on the lake to work it into the engine before I pull it out? Or just add it when I cap off the tank before storage?

If you're going to top off the tank that's fine so put it in then. When you'll run the motor to fog it, the stabilizer will get to the carbs then.
