Default Removing Turbo

Has anyone pulled the turbo off and ran as a normally aspirated engine? We have two of these Hondas ARX 1200T3 and one has the classic 30 MPH bug that is likely a turbo problem. I was wondering how she would run without the turbo?

Default 30 mph bug

I had that bug with my 2005 turbo and found it was sucking air in the intake from a loose clamp on the main rubber hose. Happened while I was riding it. Bought it used and didn't know where to look. Turned the hose upside down and tightened down both ends really tight, runs normally. Got lucky didn't have to take to shop. Hope your problem is similar, not more extensive. Good luck

Thatnks for reply but mine is a bit more serious. The wastegate is completely corroded. I can see the inner spring and rubber diaphram from the back side. So I either need a neew wastgate valve or a whole new turbo. Honda doesn't sell just the wastgate,

You need to track down a guy on here who knows and defends Hondas track record although nothin after 2009 when they stopped production. His screen name is JrinJax. Send him a P.M. he will give you some good advice. I know nothing about the Honda Turbos except they are maitenance nightmares as you are finding out. Lubricating the waste gate actuator is manditory after each ride or it will result in what you are going thru.

Good luck....
