Default Just picked up my SBT engine

I went for a SBT rebuilt engine instead of rebuilding 2004 F12. It is costing me $700 more than doing it myself, but I am feeling better about the decision after taking a plant tour.

I am involved in manufacturing in the Aerospace industries and have had tours of many plants, from makers of small control components to assemblies of jet engines. I enjoyed the SBT tour as much as any of the 'big guys'. Although their processes are not as strict as the Aerospace industry, I could see they had good quality control processes in place. I was particularly suprised to see they cut all crankshafts apart, then rebuild them with new bearing surfaces. Consistancy of key components such as crankshafts and bore sizes are emphasized even when the work is not needed so that downstream process can be streamlined.

Anyway, it is not a Mom and Pop shop!

But the 1 year warranty even if I screw it up sealed the deal!

Hope I can post back in a couple of weeks saying the install was successful and the ski is running great!
