I just purchased a 2004 F12X Turbo with 27 hours of use. This weekend while I was on the lake I noticed a rattling sound. At first I thought it was water pounding the bottom of the ski as I screamed across the lake at 60 MPH but its not. The rattle sounds like a chain rattling towards the back of the machine and when i turn to the left the sound lessens. I removed everything that I felt would cause the noise but the noise is still there. The rattle is constant and does not change pitch with increase or decrease of throttle (other then turning to the left). I have no engine codes and the engine responds great when I squeeze the throttle.
Where do I go for a good shop manual?
I live in Alaska and there are very few Honda skis here. Any thoughts would be great.
Have you greased the rear bearing? Is the ride plate loose? Check prop and pump housing. Really dought its the turbo it would be running weird and have alot more noise because you wouldn't get boost if it was loose. Check exhaust also or look for a tool left in the ski rattling around, have seen that before. good luck.
