I need to replace a side rub rail. Where is the best place to shop?

Does anyone know how to actually replace them? How do you get the old ones off and do you really need 47 rivets at $2.73 a pop?

If your replacing them all I guess it may be 47 rivets. I found mine at the local marina at .39 each. The corners and front have pugs remove them with a small screwdriver. The sides have inserts as you can see on the schematic it will slide out. then drill the rivets with a 3/16 bit only about a 1/4 inch deep then you can gently pull the rails off and remove the remaining rivet with a small punch. This may not be the way the book says to do it but I had no problems.

If anyone needs these in the future. The cheapest place I found them was Honda atv, motorcycle, california sidecar, goldwing, parts, trike, scooter, microfiche, accessories. Heartland Honda Springdale, AR 888-853-8468. They stock plenty of these.

[I have done this a bunch of times, is really no big deal. No you don't buy the rivets from honda or any other aftermarket co.
You can buy a box of 50, from any of your local diy stores for less than 10 bucks. Drill the old ones out, a 3/16th bit as has been suggested.have a decent pop rivet gun to put the new ones in. I also put a little bit a clear silicone on the rivet covers, just so they don't come off, Those little buggers, you have to buy from a dealer.
Be sure to check out Honda of East Toledo, for any replacement parts. I, and many fellow riders, have found them to be really reasonable for honda replacement parts.
