Default Any likes or dislikes about WSM Platinum Pistons and mail order Boring jobs

Have a 1998 1100 ZXI that fried a piston, one of the oil lines from the pump split out and came off.
I found a place on ebay that will bore, and send me fitted pistons, rings, bearings, pins, clips and a gasket set for $450. The pistons they use are WSM brand. Anyone have any in-site into going this rout. Seems like a very good price after checking some prices from parts stores. Thanks for your help.

Id go with forged pistons. sbt offers a cylinder exchange kit with everything you need for 695. and you can have it quickly

id never trust ebay for such, how bout a local shop for the boring and get thier opinion on oversize then pickup the parts yourself.

and forged pistons i would'nt recommend, not needed and cast pistons that are well built will last just as long.

I wouldn't do it, had a customer that did this same thing because he thought I was to much for him, (I use SBT) and we put the engine in for him, it lasted about 10 hrs, now the engine was under warrenty but he had to pay me again to take his engine out and put the other rebuild back in for him. SBT is the way to go, pay me now or pay me later, thats how you have to look at it. And you don't want to loose time on the water when you have a nice day off to ride.
