I took the engine out to redo the hull and I just rode it for about 10min and it started bogging down halfway home and when I got to my pier I took the hood off and looked and my exhaust manifold had somehow blown off and taken 2 studs with it and filled the hull with water. Could it have been that I hooked a hose up wrong? I know many of you are masters with these things anybody have any idea??

You talking about the hose that goes to your water box?

No, one of the 3 hoses the Comes off the pipe, not the large one that goes to the waterbox. I just thought maybe I hooked one up that could have filled it up so quick it built up so much pressure it just blew the intake off. But I don't think the intake was tightened up too much that it could have just broke off, but it came off with so much force it took two studs out of the cylider with it???? I probably sound like an idiot but I am just so boggled by this and how it could happen after running so good one time I took it out, then the second time is when it screwed up.

If I'm not mistaken the 3 hoses are different sizes. Your water box is the biggest, not to sure where the medium size one goes, it's been a while since I've looked under the hood of a 550. And the small one goes to the top back of the exhaust and squirts water out of the side. You could have over tighten them, it doesn't take much in that cast
