Unhappy 2005 kawasaki STX 900 Flame Arrestor Duct

I just took a chance and tried to install a fuel primer into my jet ski. This is my first jet ski and i don't know much about it. Most of what i have learn so far are from forum and youtube. Thanks to the kind folks that willing to take the time and shared their knowledge.
After a couple of day reading the forum on how to install a fuel primer, I decided to give it a try. I removed the flame arrester and notice that all 3 ducts are brittle and 2/3 missing. Look like the ducts are made out of rubber and got ate up by the heat from the carburetor. I then decided to take the carburetor out and see if i can find any remnants of the duct. I found very little (about 1/20 of what i lost) in the pipe intake. I'm think that the brittle duct got into the piston cylinder. My question to you is that would these remnants damage my engine? Also i'm looking for the replacement but don't want to go back to that rubber duct and wondering if there are any option out there. Also can the duct be made from any metal pipe?

My other problem now is that the primer fitting also doesn't fit the hole where i took out the choke. Not sure what to do. I got a pile of mess in the garage now.
Any help right now would be greatly appreciated.

It is very common on kawasaki triples to have this problem. i recommend you pull the intake and check the reed valves for damage. typically, some of the pieces get trapped in the reed valves. Once the intake is removed, you can see into the lower end of the motor where any pieces would be if they passed through the intake. I always use factory replacement velocity stacks they last at least ten years.
