Default rev limiter

Hello;
I have a 1989 or 90 Kawasaki Jet Mate. I have put a 750 motor in it but left the old 650 electronics. The motor is a westcoast EP7800RS. It is brand new. I have adjusted the twin carbs and this thing realy wants to go. The problem is I cant get any high RPM`s out of it. As I understand the stock CDI ignition coil hasa a rev limiter. Could this be my problem and how could I remedy it?
Thanks

I'm not too sure about those older models. But I didn't think a 750 stator would operate with 650 electronics modules. If the 650 had a rev limiter (not sure that it did?) there is no way to circumvent it... it is a sealed CDI unit. Maybe it is not the rev limiter... have you checked fuel flow / filters / throttle linkage, etc. I'm guessing, maybe someone else knows for sure.

Thanks ggauvin I am running a 650 stator on the 750 motor. the fuel supply and linkage are great. It feels as if the motor is being governed at higher RPM. I believe there is a rev limiter. Is it in the CDI coil? and is there a CDI coil I can use without a rev limiter?
