Default 900 zxi temperature sensor/switch

Ok, I've searched and read virtually every topic.

On a 900 zxi can the temperature sensor/switch be bypassed for diagnostic purposes?

It seems that when these fail, it results in a few similar symptoms.
Loss of power
Inability to exceed 4000 - 4500 rpm
Stalling
Plugs fouling
Intermittent restored power

Of all the threads on this topic, I could not find one that specified the temp switch/sensor was the culprit. Nor was there any info of bypassing this sensor.
It would be appreciated if anyone could assist and elaborate on this a bit.

yes you can by pass the water temp switch for diagnostic purposes when these fail or clog up it will put the engine into limp mode... but i would check to see if you have any blockages first check all cooling hoses and make sure you have water coming out of the pisser even remove the sensor and make sure its not clogged up

the symtoms you mentioned... only the plugs fouling i dont think the sensor will cause this problom but correct me if im wrong ... yes the engine looses power ie limp mode /Intermittent restored power

RE: your "nevermind" post... did you find another solution????
For other readers interested in Temp Sensor problems, here's my $0.02 worth:
To test for a failed sensor, you simply unplug it. Open circuit is the normal condition of these sensors. The stated symptom list is generally accurate. But the "fouled plugs" item is curious. Yes, it could foul plugs 'cause limp mode keeps interrupting the ignition. But most people don't run in that mode any more than a short limp back to the dock. Thus the plugs don't have time to build up much crud.
The sensors themselves can fail electrically (end up closed circuit, even if cool). They also have a tendency to clog up, and limit the flow out the pisser. If pisser flow is marginal, or steaming hot, check out the temp sensor, and other related hoses & fittings.
