Default 1989 Kawasaki 650 sx

Hey guys, I just picked up a 1989 650 sx. It's extremely clean and totally stock. My buddy helped me rebuild the carb, I put the oil block-off plate on and installed a new battery. The ski sounds real good and idles real nice, with the garden-hose attached. My question is, do I need to put any oil in the resevoir on the front of the engine, I removed the other oil tank on the gas tank. I can't find any information about this but I figure the jet pump has to use oil. I would appreciate any help and look forward to learning from you guys, thanks.

The jet has a grease fitting for lubrication. Check the oil tank and see if an oil line goes to the crank case as this will supply the crank bearings with oil.

The oil pump just had a line coming into it from the plastic tank and a line going out of it to the carb.

I think I may have figured out my question. Searching through some old posts; I found one where the person basically had the same question. It sounds like this is the ignition timing cap and you don't want oil in there or you'll fry the stator. My owners manual says not to put oil in here so this makes sense. It sounds like there is a grease zerk for the impeller? Is it on the shaft, do you access from underneath or at the rear of the engine? Sorry for the newbie questions, I do love the information here!

There should be a black plastic cover sitting behind the back of the motor, this cover hides the coupler as well as the empeller bearing. Remove the cover and the grease fitting will be in plain sight.
