Default STX 750 Pump Sealing Question

Hey All,

I'm putting the ass end of my '98 750 STX back together after having it apart most of the winter (long story).

Anyway, when assembling the pump jet to the pump shoe there is a pump seal gasket (rubber) that seals the forward part of the pump to the hull. Do I need to silicone or permatex that gasket to the pump, or to the hull or put it on dry?

Thanks in advance.
