Default Driveshaft keeps slipping out of the coupler?

i have a 1996 1100 zxi and i am having a problem that the drive shaft keeps moving back and disengaging from the motor. i ripped apart the coupler the first time and i tested it with a new one and it wants to do it again. i think if i put a spacer inbetween the shaft and the prop where the shaft connects to the prop it will make up for the slipping. whats the real problem with my ski.

Do you have the right length driveshaft? Every model is different. Has anyone changed out the motor, pump, etc, and used the wrong replacement part? The only other choice is bad pump bearings, allowing the pump to move aft.

figured it out. the engine mounting plate was backwards. the triangle shapes in the plate have to be forward. had to take the engine out again to fix it. pain in the a$$
