Default 2001 kawasaki 1100 zxi ignition problems

hello i just recently came in possesion of a 2001 kawasaki 1100 zxi. the problem is when i go to start it, it will crank, but will not turn over. ive checked the spark plugs and wires and have noticed that the end of the wire that goes into the ignition case are overly loose. i decided to take the top off of the case and took a look at the other side and it doesnt look like any split wires or anything and nothing else in the box looks out of the ordinary. im wondering if that could be the problem or am i looking in the wrong spot. any ideas or comments are welcome. looking forward to the help thanks

it cannot ' crank but will not turn over '

if you push the start button and the starter spins the engine its cranking.

Whats required for the engine to run.

1st Compression
2nd Spark
3rd Fuel

have you done a compression test ? 100 psi or above and within 10% of all three cylinders would be good, hot blue spark on all three would be good, correct those first then service the fuel system.

has the ski sat unused for a long period ?

Thanks for the advice, I did a little work on it and noticed that the second and third cylinder were not firing, but when I messed with the wires a little bit they got spark again. Do u think it could just be new plugs? And yes the ski sat for two ywars

cut 1/4" off plug wire lenght @ plug end and retest.

sat 2 years, fresh fuel and plugs with premix in fuel, clean complete fuel system, clean all hose passages [ dirt dobbers/spiders/ants/rats/tree rats ] are truely pest and can cause major problems, go over the ski front to rear.
