Need advice on 1991 Jet Ski SX
I am looking to buy a 1991 Jet Ski SX and am looking for some advice. I know very little about jet skis other than how to ride them for fun. It will mainly be for my 16 year old son and myself to use.
This is a 1991 650SX. The motor, and electronics are from a newer '92 or '93 TS 650 sit down.
The ski has:
aftermarket handle bars
aftermarket finger throttle
handle pole spring
primer kit
oil injection removed, and crank case drain removed / blocked off
new hydro turf mats / pads
westcoast deep scoop grate
new fuel lines
water by pass fittings / new cooling lines
carb, and fuel pump newly rebuilt
cover
new hood seal
custom paint job(blue w/ silver flames)
The motor, and electronics are completely stock. Both have been checked over, and are up to specs. 150 psi per cylinder for compression.
He is firm on his price of 1600.00.
What do you guys think? The Wife is skeptical and really needs more convincing. I'm sold.
The owner of the ski also owns a pwc parts/service shop and works on them for a living. The ski has been water tested on land in his shop but has not been on a lake yet. He wants to lake test it before it leaves his shop regardless of who buys it.
Sounds like a good deal? Advice? Words of Wisdom. Run for the hills?
Thanks,
Mike
