Hello,
I bought a 98 STX 900 from someone, and when running it runs fine. But i always have to start it with starter fluid. I have replaced the fuel filter. Do I need carb rebuilds? Once running its powerful and fast but even when warm if i let it sit for like 20 minutes and come back it won't start without starter fluid.

Second problem is that none of the electrical works. Trim doesn't work, and the leds on the front panel (fuel, oil temp, speedometer) nothing work but it runs fine. I checked the fuses, and they are both good. I replaced them both anways and no avail.

Any assistance would be incredibly appreciated.

Remove electric case cover and check all connections. I found on my 97 900stx the connection had melted together. Once i replaced all LEDs and gauges came back to life.

Found that temp sensor w/ bypass valve were clogged due to salt water.
