Default 89 650sx newbie

well i just biught a 89 650sx and it isnt fast enough it has an jetsport ride plate and thats it, what mods would be best to start, is it easy to swap a 750 motor in thanks

i think a 750 motor swap should be easy enough.
theres another thread concerning dropping a 750 in a 440/550 hull.
a steeper pitch impeller will boost your top speed also.

It's not the motor so much as the rest of the ski that will make it go faster. The key to these machines is moving the water through the pump. I would start with a variable pitch impeller 14/17. A rideplate will get you to a plane quicker. A scoop grate will ensure that there is always water in the pump. These are the cheapest mods that will give you an increase without breaking the bank. After that it is carb, exhaust, and ignition, all of which are fairly pricey.

my impeller is rattling around and i figure its the bearings.. i was wondering if any one had a good aftermarket one for sale?? also how much does changing the nozle help
