Default Winterizing 2000 1100 STX DI

Have a 2000 1100 STX DI and pulled it out of the water the other to get ready to winterize it and put it in storage. I flushed the cooling system out through the top of the exhaust and got that done. I also took of the hoses that carry water to engine for cooling and tried to drain out as much water as I could. Should a person blow air from a hose down through the flushing connection on top of the exhaust to get the most water out or what is the best way to know most of the water is out of the engine. The manual says nothing about putting any type of antifreeze in any port but if you would where would you put it in at and will it hurt the engine or any other parts? I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking something in trying to get all the water out for winter.
Noticed in the manual it also says to flush the bilge out also, is this something that is commonly done, havent heard many people talk about it before?
Thanks for any help in advance.
