Default 93 750SS battery is always dead

I've gone through a bunch of batteries for my old ski. It takes a charge...until I fry the water out of the battery..but I'll charge it up and the ski runs and starts just fine...if I turn it off to rest a few mins and try to restart but my battery is dead. What am i doing wrong and where do I need to look?

Default Dead battery

The first thing to check would be all of the connections, including the starter. Make sure there is no corrosion and everything is tight. After that you will probably need to go looking for a dead short. You will need a volt meter to see what wires are pulling on the battery when the ski is shut off.
