Default Over heat warning

I have a 1999 Kaw 1100 stx... It got hot on me and over heated. I corrected the problem for the cause in temp.. (clogged intake lines, gt to close the bank and sucked up some junk) But when i turn the engine on, the light still flashes over heat, with out even running. It starts fine in the water, and is not overheating.. Is there a way to reset this alarm??

Try disconnecting the battery for a while and see if that doesn't reset it.
