Default Swamped my SX 800-R

I got a little carried away with riding around on the front of my Stand up jet ski this weekend and managed to fill the engine compartment almost completely full of water. I emptied it out obviously, but now all i get when i try to start it is a single turn of the starter then nothing. I'm pretty sure its not a dead battery. I think i got some water up the exhaust and possibly into some of the engine components. Any ideas?
Thanks

I did the same thing to mine the day I bought it. Luckily some local guys walking by helped me. Your engine is hydrolocked. You need to take the spark plugs out and then press and hold the start button for 3-5 second intervals and the water will spray out of the spark plug holes. Be sure to put the spark plug caps on the prongs in back (see manual). Spray starter fluid on the spark plugs and in the intake. Repeat the process and it WILL start back up. I almost sank mine in the Gulf. I did this and it runs perfect again

To the OP, were you in fresh water or salt water?
