Default 550 killswitch not working

so my killswitch isnt working on my 550 and i accidently left my repair manual 400 miles away. any out there who can tell me where i should astart troubleshooting?

start with the wire that come out of the switch and do a ohm. test to see if the switch is good or their is a wire problem

I know this has been a dead thread for awhile...but what did you do to get the switch working again? Mine went out and I dont know where to start.
