Default Cooling Adjustment for SXR-800

I just bought a 2008 sxr-800 and the water exiting the nozzle on the side (cooling water) is very hot while I ride. I understand It is suppose to be hot after cooling the engine but Is there a way to adjust the flow to keep it cooler?

There are no adjustments for the cooling water flow, to either increase or decrease the temperature of the motor.

It is normal for the water to be hot.

Dual cooling could be installed, but is fairly in depth. It requires drilling into the pump assembly, exhaust manifold, and head. Tapping with a 1/8 npt. installing the brass fittings, then running the cooling lines.

Unless you have done some major performance mods such as carb, exhaust, and high compression head, you would be wasting your time in my opinion. As well you would be taking the risk of the motor running cold which would cause nothing but premature wear.

Hope this helps.
