what i think is a JS550 that i have im having trouble with. I can get it started out of water, and when i put it in water it definetely wasnt moving like it should have with the throttle teh whole way in. And it was really smoking not sure what problem is, this is my first jetski so im clueless please help.

How old is the gas?
What is the premix ratio?
Did it sit for a long period of time?
Does it rev and not go anywhere?

Please provide a little more detail.

its new gas 40:1 ratio, my cousin actually helped me today get it started, we had it hooked up to the hose seemed fine when you feather the throttle but when u start on it it bogs out, doesnt shut off but it will bog out then rev back up. and when i had it in the water last week it was just moving really slow with the throttle punched, my cousin thinks its possibly the fuel pump because it has been sitting for abuot a yr without being run.
