I'm looking to buy a 97 kawasaki 1100STX. How many hours are acceptable for this machine? On average, how many hours can you reasonably expect to get out of this machine or any other 2 stroke? Thanks

about 2000 hrs before rebuild if maintained

There is more to a ski than hours. If the ski has sat for a long time and has low hours, it can be in worse shape than a ski that has many hours but was maintained. You really need to look over it. A clean ski with a tidy engine compartment can indicate a properly cared for ski. It is hard to judge.
