So went to go and ride the ski about an hour after my daughter had rode it previously, pushed the start button, nothing, dead.

Symptoms: Push start button, display goes blank while holding down start button, does fresh reset upon letting off green button. If you hold down red kill button display does not blank.

I have confirmed via meter that the battery is at about 12.8 volts, and upon pushing either button, voltage does not change. I have reached in with a screwdriver and jumped across the hot lead to the start lead and get the starter to turnover.

Is this the start switch or the solenoid? I did notice a little moisture when I removed the cap over the fuses. I have not removed the cover to the whole electronics unit yet.

Suggestions/Thoughts?

Update: So I did pull the cover off the electronics unit and there was water inside. Letting it dry out to see if comes back to life.

Just an FYI, I had a problem where my 02 1100 ZXi had almost rolled over and water ended up in the electronics box. It killed the motor, and I could not get it to start back up. I ended up paying about $900 in parts and repair costs to have it fixed because the parts could not be found unless through a dealer. It ended up being that the #2 and #3 starter solenoid were fried, as well as the ignitor. This may not necessarily be the case in your situation, but that's what happened with mine.

My guess is the starter solenoid, they are notoriously bad, I have replaced two on my 2000 1100stx. They are not cheap so check it out first. You can jump across the two big solenoid terminals and that will confirm the starter is ok. Then you can run a jumper wire from the base of the solenoid to the ground terminal of the battery to be sure the ground is good. Then take a second jumper wire from the small side terminal on the solenoid to the + terminal on the battery, that bypasses the starting switch circuit and checks out the electromagnet of the solenoid.
