I just bought two 1998 1100 ZXis. But no owners manual.
The oil light starts flashing when the reservoir appears to be still half full, it takes 2 qts to refill 1 gal reservoir. Is this normal that it flashes at half as a warning and I can still use the remaining 2 qts?
I am afraid to run it after the light starts flashing without knowing if it is an early warning that I am half full or a danger to continue to operate.

I bought a maintenance manual online but no info and I can't find a users manual.

every time you fill up your ski you should top off your oil as well. i use Kawasaki High Performance 2-Stroke Jet Ski Watercraft Oil. it costs me about $25 and has worked quite well for me. if that light persists i might take it to a shop and get their opinion. they might say though to ignore it. sy i cant help anymore then that.

There should be a float or a sending unit that measures the amout of oil in the tank, sounds like you are getting a bad reading,
